Pradeep Sangwan Career

In first-class cricket, Indian cricketer Pradeep Sangwan plays for Delhi. Sangwan bowled numerous cutting new ball periods while playing for the Indian squad that won the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. He played a crucial role in India's victory at the 2008 Under-19 World Cup under the direction of Virat Kohli. He recorded 8 wickets, including a critical 5-44 stint against South Africa in the group stage that helped India defeat them. He has been chosen as the Delhi T20 team's captain for the 2018 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, taking Rishabh Pant's spot.

Sangwan played his first Ranji Trophy season in 2007–08 for Delhi, taking 33 wickets at an average of 19.24 and scoring 122 runs at an average of 20.33. In the championship game versus Uttar Pradesh, he grabbed 9 wickets. During the 2013 IPL season, a random drug test revealed that Pradeep Sangwan had a positive result. His "A" samples allegedly included illegal drugs.

Sangwan began his professional career by taking 31 wickets while playing cricket for Delhi in the under-15 age group. He was signed by Delhi Daredevils for three years before joining Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. At the 2016 IPL auction, Gujarat Lions paid Rs 20 lakhs to get him. The Mumbai Indians will now be his team in the upcoming IPL season in 2018.

During the 2007–2008 Ranji Trophy season, he made his first-class debut and astonished everyone with his precise fast bowling by capturing 33 wickets at an average of 19.24. On May 2, 2008, he faced the Chennai Super Kings in his IPL debut at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, although he failed to claim a wicket in his four overs of bowling.

His accomplishments earned him a spot in India's squad for the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia after he was chosen for the under-15 team for Delhi. There, he amazed everyone with eight wickets during India's victorious campaign and was crucial to India's victory in the World Cup. He was acquired by Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League the same year. The left-arm not only lost his bowling form but also found himself in hot water after testing positive for the illegal steroid stanozolol during the 2013 IPL season. The BCCI then handed him a 15-month suspension from all forms of cricket.

IPL over the years

Sangwan, who was still under the age of 18, signed a deal with Delhi Daredevils and competed in 28 games for them over the course of the first three IPL seasons before joining Kolkata Knight Riders. Sangwan was selected by the Delhi Daredevils as the first U-19 choice in the maiden IPL draft. In the fourth IPL Season, the Kolkata Knight Riders selected him (2011). He was subsequently signed by Gujarat Lions in 2016, however, his performance fell short of their expectations. He was purchased by the Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL auction in January for a price of 1.5 crores. He was purchased by the Gujarat Titans in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition in February 2022.

What is Pradeep Sangwan’s T20I Ranking?

Pradeep Sangwan has not made his international debut yet. He was one of the breakthrough stars of the U-19 World Cup in Malaysia but he could never perform to his optimum capacity and that was one of the reasons why he was never chosen ahead of anyone for being part of the Indian side. Even after having multiple opportunities at the IPL, his performance has been subpar and his chances of making an international debut seem bleak.
