The Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) has been an integral part of the legacy of the first domestic and later International Cricket in Bangladesh. It is a List A tournament played in a round-robin format, featuring twelve teams from different parts of Bangladesh as of the latest season. All the matches of the tournament were played in three grounds Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 3 and No 4 Grounds in Savar and Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Agrani Bank Cricket Club (ABCC) is one of the 12 teams apart from Abahani Limited, Brother's Union, City Club, Dhaka Leopards, Gazi Group Cricketers, Legends of Rupganj, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and last but not the least the Shinepukur Cricket Club.

Among all these teams Agrani Bank Cricket Club has played for two seasons and was not very promising in any of them. 12 participating teams keep changing in almost every season with promotion and relegation according to the rules of the tournament. The last two teams of the point table of Dhaka Premier League are relegated to the second division after relegation matches, and the top two teams of the second division are promoted to play in Dhaka Premier League. The league, though started in 1973, gained the status of List A 10 years ago in 2013. From then onwards, Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League also known as Dhaka Premier League is one of the top-notch domestic tournaments in the country.

The Agrani Bank Cricket Club, commonly known as ABCC an abbreviation, is a prominent cricket club which is based in Bangladesh. This team was founded in 1972 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Agrani Bank is a leading commercial bank in Bangladesh. The Agrani Bank Cricket Club is owned by Agrani Bank itself. Agrani Bank Cricket Club is one of the oldest clubs that exist in Bangladesh and deeply relates to the history and spread of cricket in the country. They have been playing domestic cricket since the 1972-73 season of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

After showcasing a fairly prominent performance in Dhaka First Division Cricket League in the 2016-17 season, the Agrani Bank Cricket Club got a chance to play in Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League in the 2017-18 season. In this first match, they clinched an 8-wicket win by defeating the defending champion Gazi Group Cricketers. Although they got a big victory in their opening match of the season but lost momentum in the next matches and registered consecutive losses. Eventually, at the end of the tournament, they finished in eleventh position in the points table of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League in 2017-18. As a result, they had to play the relegation playoff. But in the final match of the relegation playoff, they were not able to win. Because of this, once again, the Agrani Bank Cricket team was relegated to Dhaka First Division Cricket League in the next season.

Unfortunately, due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic situation, Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was cancelled in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 to secure the good health of the players and keep them away from the infection. After the pandemic, Agrani Bank Cricket Club made a comeback in the 2022-2023 season. But in this season as well the results did not improve, they finished in 11th position in the points table and were again relegated to the Dhaka First Division Cricket League for the upcoming season.
