Mohammed Siraj began his domestic career in November 2015 with Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy. A few months later, he debuted in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in January 2016. In the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy, Siraj became the top wicket-taker for Hyderabad, claiming 41 wickets at an average of 18.92.

In February 2018, he was the highest wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, taking 23 wickets in seven matches. Later that year, he was selected for India A in the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy and again for India B in the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy.

In the 2020 IPL, Siraj set a record by becoming the first bowler to bowl consecutive maiden overs in a single match. His performances at the domestic level helped build his reputation as a reliable fast bowler.
