Kidambi Srikanth made short work of his quarter-final tie against Teck Zhi Soo, while P V Sindhu was shown the door by He Bingjiao of China at the Indonesian Masters on Friday at Malang, Indonesia. Srikanth remains the sole Indian player in the fray going into the semi-final.

World No.8 Kidambi Srikanth decimated his Malaysian counterpart 21-10, 21-5 in 24 minutes. The Guntur lad clearly dominated the proceedings as he took a ten-point lead at 12-2. Soo had no chance of a comeback as Srikanth finished up the game 21-10.

The second game was even shorter as the Indian lad demolished Teck Soo 21-5 to clinch the match. He will next face Anthony Ginting from the host nation. Ginting also registered a straight-set victory in his quarter-final match.

World No.12 P V Sindhu exited the tournament in a very un-Sindhu manner. The top seed was shown the door by unseeded opponent He Bingjiao from China in straight sets.

Sindhu had an early advantage at 4-2 in the first set, but failed to capitalise on it as the Chinese went on to win five straight points from 5-5 to lead 10-5. After Sindhu struck back to equalize at 11-all, the game crawled its way to the finish as both the players traded serves until 20-19 with Bingjiao in the lead. The Chinese, however, failed to convert two game points at 20-19 and 21-20, but won two points in quick succession to wrap up the set in the third attempt.

The second set was a dull affair, as the World No.12 Indian was nowhere to been seen in the frame. Bingjiao created a seven point cushion at 11-4 with Sindhu showing no real intent to come back into the game. Bingjiao comfortably sailed through the remainder of the set giving away only nine points on her way to clinch the game 21-13, and with it the match.

Sindhu will next be seen at the invitation-only Copenhagen Masters tournament in Denmark where she will hope to find her lost form and finish the season on a winning note.
