In the latest of accolades for PV Sindhu, Sachin Tendulkar will gift the Rio silver-medalist a BMW car during his visit to Hyderabad this month. This is not the first of gifts for Sindhu from the God of Cricket who had given her a Maruti Swift after she won the Asian Youth Championship in 2012.

PV Sindhu created history by becoming the first-ever Indian woman to win an Olympic Silver after she stepped on to the podium as the runner-up in the women's singles badminton event. Sindhu lost a close final to Carolina Marin but saved the blushes for the nation, along with Sakshi Malik, as India ended with just two medals from the edition. Olympic ambassador Sachin, who was in Rio encouraging the athletes, will be presenting her with a BMW for making the nation proud, it is learnt

Chamudeswaranath, president of Hyderabad Badminton Association of India and a close friend of Sachin Tendulkar, said, "Tendulkar will visit Hyderabad on August 28 to gift the car to Sindhu. We will decide on the schedule and venue for the event shortly," reported ToI. Chamundeswaranath is also sponsoring the gift, it is learnt.

The duo had, in 2012, made a similar gift to Saina Nehwal after her historic bronze at the 2012 London Olympics.
