Saina Nehwal has announced her decision of working with Pullela Gopichand again through a message on social media where she informed about changing her training base to Hyderabad. She thanked Gopichand for agreeing to help her again and also appreciated Vimal Kumar’s contribution in her success.

Nehwal had trained at the Gopichand’s Academy until 2014 when she decided that she wanted a change and moved to Bangalore to start training with Vimal Kumar.

Under Kumar’s guidance, the Indian shuttler became the first woman from India to top the women’s rankings and only the second player since Prakash Padukone to achieve the feat. However, the 27-year-old was not able to add much silverware to her cabinet, winning just three Superseries titles in those years.

Following Nehwal' decision to switch cities, reports had emerged that the two had not been on talking terms. However, after the 2017 World Championships, Nehwal had congratulated Gopichand on PV Sindhu's exceptional performance in the final. A couple of days later the Indian coach had stated that "India was very fortunate that we have players like Sindhu and Saina."

It now appears that the duo have buried the hatchet, if there ever was any, and decided to work today again as Nehwal enters the twilight of her career. Saina took social media to announced this big development.
