Vijender’s next pro bout postponed to April 30

Indian boxer Vijender’s Singh’s fifth pro bout, which was scheduled to take place at the Harrow Leisure Centre in London on April 2, was postponed on Monday due to technical reasons. The fight will now take place on April 30 at the Copper Box Arena in London against an unnamed opponent.

“It had been announced that Singh would feature on April 2 show at the Harrow Leisure Centre in London, but following a reschedule he has been moved, instead, onto the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders’ WBO World Middleweight title defence against Max Bursak,” Vijender’s promoters Queensberry Promotions and IOS said in a press release, reported PTI.

The bout which is to take place on April 30 at the Copper Box Arena in London will be Vijender’s first eight-round fight after competing six rounds and four rounds in his past bouts. Vijender had made his pro-boxing debut in October last year and has been on an unbeaten run,  defeating Sonny WhitingDean GillenSamet Hyuseinov and Alexander Horvath via knockouts.

After the fight on April 30, the Olympics and World Championship bronze medallist will be in action on May 13 at the Premier Suite in the Macron Stadium in Bolton before heading home for his maiden title bout in June.
