Indian men’s hockey captain PR Sreejesh has slammed Air Asia for charging him Rs 1500 as excess baggage for his kit which he claimed weighed less than the permissible limit. A goalkeeper’s equipment is heavier than others as it includes additional protective gear.

“Extra charges for the sports equipment bag which come below 15kg ??Are they expecting me to carry makeup kit?? ..funny concept,”the goalkeeper Tweeted, along with a snapshot of the receipt, to Air Asia.

Sreejesh was returning with the national team from Malaysia after winning the Asian Champions Trophy. India beat arch rivals Pakistan 3-2 in the final.
