Sachin Tendulkar flies to Rio to attend his first Olympic Games

Sachin Tendulkar, who is one of the Olympic goodwill ambassadors for India, has traveled to Rio after receiving an invitation from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach. Sachin had expressed an almost child-like excitement ahead of his first visit to attend the Games.

“Thrilled to go to Rio and cheer for team India! Chalo Rio mein tiranga lehraein!!!! Come on team India!” Sachin wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

Sachin flew to Rio on Tuesday and will visit the Indian Olympic contingent on his visit, which is his first time at the Olympic Games.

“This will be Tendulkar’s first visit to the Olympics games. Tendulkar, during his visit he would also be meeting the Indian contingent to wish them well for the games.

“Sachin recently visited the government hospital in Mumbai to get a yellow fever vaccination which is mandatory for countries like Brazil,” a source close to Sachin Tendulkar said, reported Indian Express.
