After narrowly missing out on a medal yesterday, India would be hoping for a much better day at Rio with Archer Atanu Das, shooter Heena Sidhu and boxer Vikas Krishan taking the field in their respective events. The men’s hockey team will also play their third group match against Argentina today.

Rower Dattu Bhokanal, who finished third in the men’s singles sculls heat 1 on day 1, will be in action for India on Day 4. Bhokanal will be in fourth quarter-final race of the day and will hope for a finish in the top-3 to qualify for the semi-finals.

After a disappointing outing in the 10m air pistol, Heena Sidhu will be hoping for a much better performance in the women’s 25m pistol event. Sidhu will be in the action at 5.30pm and to catch all the live updates about the event, you can follow our blog.

In archery, Atanu Das, who finished 5th in the ranking round, will be in action in the elimination round and will be hoping to move into the next round when he takes on Nepal’s Jitbahadur Muktan, who ranked 60th, in the Round of 64 encounter. If Atanu Das manages to win it, he will be in action in the Round of 32 match later in the day.

After suffering a goal in the last minute against Germany to lose the match 1-2, Indian men’s hockey team will be looking to make amends today, when they take on Argentina in their third group match. India have three points from two games and will need at least one more to win to qualify for the quarters.

Boxer Vikas Krishan will open India’s boxing campaign at Rio in the early hours of tomorrow, when he takes the ring in the Round of 32 in the middleweight category. He will face American Charles Conwell in the opening bout.
