Sania Mirza Academy to host match-up between legends

The first and third of the exhibition matches between the multiple Grand Slam winners will be held at Kolkata on November 25 and 27. Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi had clinched mixed doubles Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open (2009) and the French Open (2012), while Leander Paes and Martina Navratilova won Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2003.

Sania Mirza, who is having an extraordinary run in 2015, along with her Swiss partner Martina Hingis has won nine titles including the Wimbledon, US Open, China Open and the year-end WTA Finals in Singapore. Sania was also selected in the BBC's annual 100 Inspirational Women list on Wednesday.

Imran Mirza, Sania’s father-cum-coach explained that the match is a part of the promotional tour for the second season of IPTL. “We are proud to hosting this event in Hyderabad especially after Sania’s dream run this year which saw her win 10 titles including the Wimbledon and the US Open Grand Slam doubles titles,” Imran pointed out, as reported by Sportstarlive.com.

The four superstars have won a total of 86 Grand Slam titles among themselves of which Navratilova holds 59 and Paes holds 17.
