Australian Open: Bhupathi-Miller knocked out by Bryan brothers; Bopanna-Mergea cruise to round 3
Mahesh Bhupathi and Gilles Miller were knocked out by third-seeded pair of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan 6-3, 6-2 in the second round of the Australian Open. Rohan Bopanna is now the sole Indian survivor in men's doubles, as he and his partner Florin Mergea booked their place in the third round.
Bopanna and Mergea continued their strong run as a pair, with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win over the Czech team of Lukas Dlouhy and Jiri Vesely. The number four seeds will now face the 14th seeded team of Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi, who partnered Bhupathi back in 2008, in their third round clash.
Meanwhile, the first round mixed doubles match between Leander Paes/ Martina Hingis and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova/ Dominic Inglot, which was scheduled to start at 3:30 pm local time at Court 3, has been canceled due to rain.
