Paris Masters | Djokovic, Murray through to quarters; Tsonga upsets Nishikori
Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic moved into the quarterfinals for a possible Sunday final showdown at the Paris Masters with the World No. 1 ranking held by the Serb at stake. Meanwhile, home favourite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga stunned Kei Nishikori after coming back from a set down to win 0-6, 6-3, 7-6.
Murray cruised to a comfortable 6-3, 6-0 win over Frenchman Lucas Pouille, ranked 17, in just over an hour. The World No. 2 will now go up against Tomas Berdych, who has lost his previous six encounters to the Briton including the Wimbledon semifinal earlier this year.
Djokovic came back from a set down against Grigor Dimitrov to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 and will next meet Marin Cilic, who is yet to register a win against the Serb after 14 encounters.
Milos Raonic also bounced back after dropping the first set against Pablo Cuevas to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. He will now face Tsonga, who shocked World No.4 Nishikori 0-6, 6-3, 7-6 despite failing to win a single game in the first set.
Americans Jack Sock and John Isner will also meet later today for a place in the semis.
