From being at the top of the world a year ago, everything that could have gone wrong with Novak Djokovic's career has, and the pressure seems to be getting to the world No 2. After his loss to Nick Kyrgios in the Mexico Open, the Serb finished his post-match press conference in just 12 words.

Djokovic is known for his funny antics on and off the court, but there was no room for any sort of fun after his straight-sets defeat to Australian Kyrgios in the quarter-finals in Acapulco. The Aussie star had an incredible 25 aces to his name as he beat the former world No 1 player 7-6 (11-9) 7-5.

Asked about his defeat, Djokovic said: "Not great."

The 29-year-old appeared to be irritated, at times, with Kyrgios' antics in the duo's first-ever meeting,  and when the question was put to him, the Serb cut it short.

"He has a big serve. He deserved to win. Congrats," Djokovic said walking out of the press conference.

A year ago Djokovic was in the form of his life and was just a month away from becoming the only player to hold all four grand slams together. Since then, however, he was knocked out of Wimbledon in the third round, Olympics in the first round, US Open in the final, and the 2017 Australian Open in the second round.

The Serb appears to have lost a bit of his rhythm and needs to get back on the horse as quickly as possible because tennis is an unforgiving game and he might not be able to recover from this slump.
