ATP World Tour Finals | Tennis fans left fuming as ATP announce wrong schedule

On Wednesday, the ATP announced the schedule for the year-ending spectacle at the O2 Arena in London, but things got off to a rocky start as Boris Becker, whose name has been used for one of the groups, was stuck in traffic which resulted in the draw being delayed. But that wasn’t the biggest story at the end of the day. 

After top-seeded Rafael Nadal was drawn alongside Dominic Thiem, Grigor Dimitrov, and David Goffin, in the Pete Sampras group, for the season-ending finale, the ATP announced the schedule. According to the initial report, Roger Federer, who was placed in the Boris Becker Group, which has Alexander Zverev, Marin Cilic, and Jack Sock, was set to start his campaign on Monday. Fans rushed to get the tickets to see the top seeds but after the transaction had been completed, they realized that the ATP had changed the schedule. 

Fans logged on to social media to voice their discontent with the ATP and some fans even coming up with a (ridiculous) theory that Nadal had somehow managed to get the schedule changed to get himself an extra day’s rest. Express reported a user writing, "Fed will start on sunday to give more time to Nadal to heal. Nadal asked ATP to change from sunday to monday.”
