French Open | Rohan Bopanna and partner Marius Copil knocked out in men's doubles

Rohan Bopanna, the last Indian present at the French Open, along with partner Marius Copil suffered a 6-1, 5-7, 6-7 (8-10) loss to Serbian pair of Dusan Lajovic and Janko Tipsarevic. The Indian tennis player suffered this defeat in the third round of the men’s doubles competition on Sunday.

Rohan Bopanna's outing at this year’s French Open came to an end on Sunday after he and partner Marius Copil suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the third round of the men’s doubles competition at the ongoing French Open.

The Indo-Romanian combination conceded a one-game advantage before going down 6-1, 5-7, 6-7 (8-10) as they were knocked out of the Grand Slam by Serbian pair of Dusan Lajovic and Janko Tipsarevic. The match went on for two hours and five minutes as the final set tiebreaker went right down to the wire.

Earlier, Indian tennis legend Leander Paes was also knocked out of the French Grand Slam in the second round men’s doubles match along with French partner Benoit Paire. The Indo-French pair was defeated 0-6 6-4 3-6 by the third-seeded Colombian duo of Robert Farah and Juan Cabal. Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Jessica Moore lost their mixed doubles match to Chan Hao-ching and Oliver Marach by a scoreline of 7-5, 4-6, 5-10.
