Rutuja Bhosale lifts women’s doubles title at ITF $25,000 event in Namangan

Indian female tennis player Ruturaj Bhosale has claimed the women’s doubles title at the ITF $25,000 event in Namangan, Uzbekistan with her partner Eudice Chong. The pair got the better of Anastasia Pribylova and Shalimar Talbi 6-4, 6-3 in the final on Saturday to win the trophy.

After losing to Chong in the women’s singles quarter-final round on Friday, Bhosale combined with her in the women’s doubles to lift the trophy at the ITF event in Namangan. The duo defeated Pribylova and Talbi in straight sets to win the trophy after Bhosale had lost the quarter-final clash 6-1, 5-7, 1-6 to Chong.

In an ATP Tour event in Munich, Germany, Indian tennis player Divij Sharan has made it to the men’s doubles final along with his partner Marcelo Demoliner. The Indo-Brazilian pair won the semi-final match against Mate Pavic and Philipp Oswald 6-3, 3-6, 10-4. In the summit clash on Sunday, they will now meet Tim Putz and Frederik Nielsel with an aim on the trophy.

Meanwhile, Sumit Nagal has qualified for the semi-finals in the men’s singles category at the ATP Challenger event in Savannah, USA. The Indian went on to beat Corentin Moutet 6-4, 7-5 in the quarter-final and will play the semi-final against Italy’s Paolo Lorenzi today.

India’s doubles specialist tennis players Purav Raja and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan have  also qualified for the semi-finals in an ATP Challenger event in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The all Indian pair got the better of USA’s Nathan Pasha and Evan King 7-6, 6-2 in the quarter-final clash yesterday and will meet Australia’s John-Patrick Smith and Matt Reid in the summit clash.

In another ATP Challenger event in Seoul, South Korea, Indian player Ramkumar Ramanathan failed to qualify for the final in men’s doubles. Playing with Brayden Schnur, Ramanathan lost the semi-final encounter against Sergiy Stakhovsky and Ruben Bemelmans 1-6, 3-6.
