Mumbai Garuda defeated UP Warriors 5-2 in the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) on Thursday to continue their unbeaten run in the league. With three wins from three games, the Garuda sits at the top of the table with six points.

UP Warriors, who suffered their first blow even before the start of the tournament with Sushil Kumar’s withdrawal, suffered their third consecutive defeat of the tournament at the convention centre in Hyatt Regency in Gurgaon.

Purevjav Unurbat, who came as a replacement for Sushil Kumar, delivered for his side by producing a terrific performance for his side. The 2015 World championship silver medallist was in full form as he took down his hapless Indian competitor time after time to add points to his tally. The one-sided contest finished just within one minute and forty five seconds as Mumbai’s Pardeep went down 1-12 to the Mongolian.

Three-time world champion Adeline Gray was the biggest name on show in the night as she thrashed Alina Stadinik Makhinia of UP Warriors by technical superiority. The American wrestler did not give Alina any chance as the match got over even before the end of the first round. The 10-0 victory for the Mumbai icon player was enough to hand the Garuda team a convincing 5-2 victory in the match.
