Sakshi Malik enters top-five in wrestling's world rankings

After her Bronze medal finish at the Rio Olympics, Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik has climbed up to the fourth rank of the United World Wrestling rankings. Wrestler Vinesh Poghat along with Sandeep Tomar, and Bajrang Punia are among the Top-20 in their respective categories.

After receiving several awards following her medal win at the Olympics in Rio, star grappler Sakshi Malik, has received another good news as she is now ranked among the top-five wrestlers in the women's 58kg Freestyle category. In the recently published United World Wrestling (UWW) rankings, Sakshi ranks fourth behind Kaori Icho of Japan,Valeria Koblova of Russia and Marwa Amri of Tunisia.

Previously unranked, Sakshi directly climbed to the fourth in the United World Wrestling rankings courtesy of her bronze-medal finish, in the 58 Kg Freestyle category, at the Olympics.

Meanwhile, Vinesh Poghat has also climbed up two places to  11th rank in the women's 48 Kg Freestyle category. Vinesh suffered a knee injury in the quarterfinals of the Olympics which made her to pull out of the tournament.

In men's wrestling, Sandeep Tomar and Bajrang Punia are ranked 15th and 18th in the 57Kg 61Kg categories respectively.
