After the women’s compound archery team won silver earlier today, the men’s team also clinched silver as they lost the final to the Republic of Korea in a nail-biter of a finish. The final went to the shoot-off and even that ended in a tie but South Korea had more bulls-eye to take the gold.

The women’s compound archery team suffered a narrow loss in the final against South Korea by a margin of 228-231 and had to settle with a silver in the ongoing Asian Games in Jakarta. Now, the men’s team also endured a similar fate as they were beaten in a nail-biter of a finish against the Korean team itself.

The Indian team which comprised Rajat Chauhan, Aman Saini, and Abhishek Verma were at their very best in the final against an equally impressive Korean team who were also looking to bag the gold medal. Indian trio Abhishek Verma, Aman Saini, and Rajat Chauhan beat their Chinese Taipei team in the semi-finals and were assured a podium finish.

India did well in the fourth set to end it with a lead of two points at 229-227. But after some confusion, the scores were revised and the Koreans then tied at 229-229. So a shootout was required to find out the winner and it is all down to Rajat after Korea shot a 10 and a 9. After that, Rajat did well to put India level at 19-19. Korea then scored another 10 as the Arjuna awardee Rajat took a 10 after that. At the end of the tiebreaker, the scores were even at 29-29. O However, the Koreans bagged the gold courtesy having more arrows in the centre circle.
