Sourabh Varma jumped 25 places to 57 in men’s singles world rankings following his triumph at the Chinese Taipei Masters for his maiden Grand Prix title. Kidambi Srikanth held on to the No. 10 spot, while Parupalli Kashyap rose 13 places to 79, according to the latest BWF rankings.

Varma, the 2011 national champion, beat top seed Hsu Jen Hao for his maiden Grand Prix crown.

Kashyap, the reigning Commonwealth Games champion, is returning after a knee surgery that ended his hopes of competing at the Rio Olympics. The former world No. 6's time out also resulted in him dropping out of the top 100.

HS Prannoy's early exit from the Denmark Open hasn't cost him much as he managed to hold on to the No. 32 spot. Sai Praneeth moved up to 34- while Ajay Jayaram dropped down three places to 23.

On the women's side, Rio silver medallist PV Sindhu stayed at No 8 while Saina Nehwal, who will return to competition at the China Open next month, remained India's top-ranked player at No. 5.

Young Ruthvika Shivani Gadde gained a place for a career-high 54 following her victory at the Russian Open, while the mixed doubles pairing of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy also achieved a career-high 30 on the back of theirvictories in the Brazil and Russian Grand Prixes.
