French Open Badminton: Sindhu, Prannoy crash out in second round
India's hopes at the French Open Super Series ended in the pre-quarterfinals on Thursday after Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu went down to China'a Bingjiao He 22-20, 21-17 in a closely contested match and HS Prannoy lost to Taipei's Tien Chen Chou 21-19, 21-16.

It was a similar story for HS Prannoy in the men’s singles. The Indian was able to maintain a slender lead at 18-15 over the world No 8, but capitulated under pressure after being level at 19-19. In the second game, Chou stormed into a 14-9 lead after which Prannoy scored five straight points to make it 14-14. Chou shifted gears after the slip-up and went on to win at 21-16.
