Kidambi Srikanth was at his attacking best against the Maldives leaking just 11 points to lead his side to a convincing 5-0 victory over the opponents yesterday. After Srikanth, Sai Praneeth and Sameer Verma won their respective matches before the doubles teams inflicted a bagel in the tie.

Srikanth got India started on the day as he took the court against Shaheed Hussein Zayan. In a completely one-sided match, Srikanth gave away just 11 points in two games combined to secure a 21-5, 21-6 win and put India on the board for the night. It was a sign of things to come as Sai Praneeth managed to overcome Ahmed Nibal's challenge in just 17 minutes by a score of 21-10, 21-4.

However, the most impressive win of the night belonged to Sameer Verma. The Indian, who was pitted against Mohamed Arsalaan Ali, conceded just six points in both his games to help India take an unassailable lead, winning the match 21-5, 21-1.

The story was no different in the men's doubles event. In the first match, the Indian pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty took identical games of 21-8, 21-8 to get the better of Shaheed Hussein Zayan and Shaheem Hassan Afsheem. In the final game, Arjun MR and Shlok Ramachandran thrashed Mohamed Arsalaan Ali and Ahmed Nibal 21-2, 21-5 to complete the rout in Malaysia.

India have been brilliant in the tournament so far but their real challenge will come in their next match when they face a formidable Indonesia later on today.
