Sai Praneeth has been ruled out of the Hyderabad open after his defeat in the second round by a young Indonesian player, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Praneeth ended up losing 21-13, 20-22, 12-21 and stated that he didn't understand how he couldn't focus during the game, which led to several mistakes.

Praneeth couldn't keep up with the form that he carried when he won the Singapore Superseries in 2017. The best he could do after that was reaching the semi-final at the New Zealand Open. He seeded second behind Sameer Verma at the Hyderabad Open and this was a huge opportunity for him to make a comeback.

However, the luck lady was not with him as he was defeated on the first day of the main draw of the Hyderabad Open badminton tournament. 20-year-old Indonesian player beat him in the second round with a score of 13-21, 22-20, 21-12, and proved that his rank did not define his ability.

Sai Praneeth even had match point against Wardoyo but could not convert and ended up losing in three games. He was really disappointed with the loss and stated that he couldn't understand what led to the lack of focus on the game.

“I don’t know what happened. I had match point and then I lost the shuttle in the lights to give away the point. That disturbed my concentration and I just made too many mistakes after that,” the world No 23, Sai Praneeth said.
