After yet another finals loss in the Asian Games, PV Sindhu is hoping to end a trail of finals losses at the Japan Open that will begin tomorrow. While Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy are looking to make up for the Jakarta fiasco, Saina Nehwal and Sai Praneeth won't be a part of the Tour 750 event.

Even though PV Sindhu managed to maintain some sort of consistency throughout the season by reaching the finals of almost all the major tournaments, she has always stumbled at the last hurdle and settled for second place. Be the Rio Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Championship, or Asian Games, Sindhu had to go through the same scenario everywhere.

The Indian lost 13-21, 16-21 to Taiwan's Tai Tzu Ying in just 34 minutes to settle for a silver at the Asian Games which was very similar to her clash at the Rio Olympics which bore a similar result. She also lost to her senior compatriot, Saina Nehwal at the CWG 2018 finals.

However, Sindhu will be back on the court at the Japan Open in order to try to break the jinx of losing in the finals. She will start with the Japanese campaign against Sayaka Takashi of Japan and is expected to meet a top player in the quarterfinal where she might face the winner between Carolina Marin and Akane Yamaguchi.

Srikanth Kidambi, who suffered a shocking loss against Hong Kong's Wing Ki Vincent at the Asian Games, will face against Huang Yuxiang while Prannoy will face Jonathan Christie in the opening round.

However, Sai Praneeth and Saina Nehwal have opted to sit out the Japan Open possibly to prepare for the hectic schedule that lies ahead.
