Pankaj Advani seals World Snooker Championship after outclassing Amir Sarkhosh
Pankaj Advani has secured yet another IBSF World Snooker Championship with a brilliant performance against Iran's Amir Sarkhosh to win the final in Doha, 8-2. The 32-year-old Advani was in top form throughout the game as he won the 18th World Championship title of his illustrious career.
The match started with Sarkhosh winning the first frame quite easily with a score of 71-19. However, from then on it was a one-way traffic as Advani showed off his skills winning the next four games quite comfortably by scores of 79-53, 98-23, 69-62, and 60-05. However, the Iranian did have his chances. In the second frame, he missed a fairly easy green pot that put Advani in control and Advani didn't look back from there on. Before the mid-way break, however, it was Amir who was in showing signs of a fightback as an incredible break of 134 earned him the frame.
The frame after the break was possibly the best of the match as Advani drew first blood with a 45 point break. The Indian then perfectly snooked the Iranian and a couple of safety exchanges later another impressive break of 17 points, followed by another snook, ended the frame in Advani’s favour.
From then on it was easy sailing for the Indian as he won the required three frames on the trot to secure the title by a score of 8-2
