Women Asian Champions Trophy | India lose to China, to meet same opponent in final

Indian eves lost to China 2-3 in their concluding league fixture for their first defeat in the 4th women's Asian Champions Trophy hockey in Singapore and will meet the same opponent in the final on Saturday.

It was gripping hockey in front of a packed house with both teams attacking from the very first minute, although the first half was goalless.

China dominated the second half after going ahead in the first minute on resumption through a field goal by Yang Chen.  Qiu Guo made it 2-0 in the 51st minute to cap a solo run.

India equalised through goals from Poonam Rani and skipper Vandana Kataria in the final quarter before China converted a penalty corner in the last minute to seal the match.

India (7 points) finished second on the table behind China (9), followed by Japan, Korea and Malaysia.
