Indian women's hockey team coach Sjoerd Marijne has stated that the Indian eves had a good experience ahead of the FIH Women’s Series Finals in Korea, where they won the series 2-1. India are grouped alongside the likes of Uruguay, Poland, and Fiji in Pool A in the series finals, from June.

After India won the first two matches of the series against Korea, they ended the series by losing the last match that prevented the eves from getting a whitewash. And while Marijne was disappointed with it, he is looking at the positive side before his side goes into the FIH Series Finals scheduled in Hiroshima, Japan from June 15.

"It was not exactly the way we wanted to finish the series but I think the experience was important at this juncture. Two of the three matches we did very good and executed our plans well. While those two wins were confidence boosting, we must forget those victories and only think about the last match which did not go according to plan and focus on how we can improve ahead of the crucial Olympic Qualifying event," said Marijne, reported PTI.

The core squad would be having 26 players in the upcoming national camp that has been scheduled on May 27 at Sports Authority of India, Bengaluru, and Marijne revealed that his main focus would be to get his players to recover in time.

"Important thing is to get good recovery now as this was a short and very high-intensity tour. During this National Camp we will focus on making the final steps towards achieving desirable results," Marijne stated.
