After her incredible victory in the quarters, PV Sindhu will look to secure a medal in the Rio Olympics when she faces world no.5 Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in the semi-final of the women’s singles event. Golfer Aditi Ashok and wrestler Babita Kumari will also be in action on Day 13 of the Olympics.

After defeating world no.2 and the 2012 silver medallist Wang Yihan in the quarter-final, PV Sindhu will look to secure India’s first medal at the Rio Olympics and to become first-ever Indian shuttler to enter the final of an Olympic event. Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara will be her opponent in the last-4, and holds a strong record of 3 wins to 1 against the Indian. Sindhu’s only win against Nozomi came at the Asia Youth U-19 championships in 2012.

In women's freestyle wrestling, Babita Kumari will be in action in the 53kg category, and will look to win a medal for the country.
