Anirban Lahiri missed a couple of easy putts on the green at the ongoing Byron Nelson PGA tournament in Dallas to finish one-under 70 in the first round. Meanwhile, India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar made four birdies in the last eight holes to comfortably make the cut at the British Masters.

Indian golf ace Anirban Lahiri endured a tough outing in the first round of the Byron Nelson PGA tournament which is being played in Dallas, USA. Lahiri missed a bunch of easy putts on the greens, a couple of them inside 10 feet, as he ended up finishing one-under 70 in the first round of the Byron Nelson PGA Tour tournament in Dallas.

The Indian was two-under after 17 but a bogey on ninth, his closing hole, saw him fall to one-under and tied-81st, which will undoubtedly put him under pressure in the second round of the tournament.

Meanwhile, compatriot Gaganjeet Bhullar impressed in the second round of the British Masters as he ended with 68 after being even through 10 holes. Bhullar had four birdies in the last eight holes and is now four-under through two rounds and was tied 29th. However, that position could change today as more players complete the second round.

The two other Indians at the British Masters - Shubhankar Sharma and SSP Chawrasia - are set to exit from the tournament after failing to make the cut for the next round. harma’s 72-79 left him way short and Chawrasia (72 and 4-over through 14) is also sure to miss out on round three.
