Indian squash star Joshna Chinappa lost to top seed Joelle King 3-1 in the final of the HKFC International at Hong Kong on Saturday. The 29-year-old showed a lot of heart to win the third set, after losing the first two, but could not sustain it in the fourth, leading to a four-game defeat.

Joshna last made it to the final of a PSA event in September last year. On that occasion in the NSCI Open in Mumbai, she had beaten the Egyptian Habiba Mohamed. This was the 19th time that Joshna had made a final appearance in the professional circuit, however, she could not add to the 11 titles she had won so far as the World No.9 Joelle King had too much quality in her play for the Indian to handle.

Joshna lost the first two games 9-11, 9-11, before fighting back to win the third 11-9. However, Joelle raised her game in the fourth game and won it 11-8, and with it the match 3-1.
