Indian Aces suffer rare loss against Slammers

The Frenchman, who also missed the Aces' last game, could not recover from his illness in time, and Carlos Moya was handed a 6-0 win in the first set. Agnieszka Radwanska continued her winning streak with another convincing 6-3 victory over Belinda Bencic of the Slammers, and put the Aces back in contention trailing by just three points at 6-9.

Ivan Dodig and Sania Mirza paired up for the mixed doubles tie. The match, which saw some fantastic exchanges at the net, went to a shoot-out at 5-5. Bopanna, who later replaced Dodig in this set, and Mirza though, made a lot of unforced errors and eventually lost the shootout 5-7.

Andy Murray's arrival has given the Singapore Slammers a real edge in the competition, and the British star made his presence felt in the men's doubles tie, alongside his partner Marcelo Melo. Indian Aces tried out the new pairing of Dodig and Bernard Tomic in this game, but they came up short and lost the tie 4-6.

In the men's singles tie, Murray continued his dominance, and decimated Tomic 5-1, before he was substituted with Nick Kyrgios. The youngster did not take long to wrap up the tie at 6-1 and with it the match.

This was the Indian Aces' second loss in the tournament as the tournament heads into the final stage. The Aces are almost assured of a place in the final at Singapore, but will face the Singapore Slammers one more time, in their last game of the league stage.
