Caroline Wozniacki rejects Maria Sharapova's agent's useless apology

Sharapova, recently, returned from her one-year suspension for the use of banned substance Meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open. Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwanska, among others, had openly spoken against granting Sharapova a wild card for the 2017 French Open. But later, they were targeted by Eisenbud, who called them "journeyman players" owing to the fact the duo had "never won a slam." Eisenbud even went on to add that the duo were "smart to try to keep Maria out of Paris" calling the tournament their "last chance to win a slam." 

Eisenbud has now reportedly emailed Wozniacki an apology for his earlier comments but according to the Sunday Times, Wozniacki rejected that and is more interested in a public apology.

"If he were really sorry, he'd have gone publicly to the media where he called me a journeyman and said that he'd made a mistake. So that apology is useless," Wozniacki said.

Since the Russian's return to the court, Wozniacki and Radwanska aren't the only ones who have criticized her with Eugenie Bouchard and Andy Murray issuing statements against Sharapova's wild card entries.
