Sania Mirza and her Czech partner Barbora Strycova displayed steely resolve to rally from an opening set loss to beat the pair of Timea Babos of Hungary and Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 1-6, 6-1, 10-4 on Monday to move into the women's doubles quarterfinals of the Miami Open.

The winners meet sixth seeds Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan and Vania King of the United States for a spot in the semifinals. The 30-year-old Mirza and her partner got off to the worst possible start, going down by a crushing 1-6 margin. However, Indo-Czech pair staged a remarkable comeback by winning the second set by an identical margin.

Sania and Barbora had reached the quarterfinals at Indian Wells and continued their good form by carrying forward their momentum going in the decider.

Earlier, in the round of 32, Sania and Barbora beat Demi Schuurs and Renata Voracova 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).
