Indian Tennis star Saketh Myneni, who was sporting an admiring run in the ATP Fergana Challenger in Uzbekistan, ended up being defeated in the singles and doubles categories on Saturday. It was disappointing to watch the steady performance of the player leading to a defeat in singles and doubles.

Despite his heady performance in the ATP Fergana Challenger, Myneni was not able to establish victory in the singles or doubles category, contrary to what his performance promised.

In his last season, Myneni's foot injury had been a significant hindrance in his progress. In the singles category, Myneni surrendered to the top-seeded Serbian Nikola Milojevic in the semifinals 4-6, 7-5, 0-6. The pair of Myneni and N Vijay Sundar Prashanth, on the other hand, was defeated by the Russian pair of Ivan Gakhov and Alexander Pavlioutchenkov by 4-6, 4-6.

The tournament, however, earned him vital 38 points, including five from the qualifiers. Myneni is supposed to propel further when the new rankings come out and he has already been raised in rankings.

The viewers of the tournament also witnessed Karman Kaur Thandi winning her first singles title on ITF Pro Circuit, defeating China's Jia-jing Lu by 6-1, 6-2 in the final of the USD 25,000 Hong Kong event.
