Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri registered wins in their respective men’s double match and qualify to the next round of the French Open. Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin had to hardly break a sweat in their win while Bhambri and Divij Sharan had to work hard for their win in three sets.

Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin continued their good run and qualified to the next round in the men’s doubles at the French Open, registering a straight sets win over Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. The 13th seeded pair of Bopanna and Roger-Vasselin had an easy-breezy win over American duo 6-3, 6-1 to enter the round of 32. They would now face the French duo of Benjamin Bonzi and Gregoire Jacq later on Thursday.

Yuki Bhambri and Divij Sharan had to work hard to overcome the pair of Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin, with the match going to the deciding third set. However, the Indian duo showed their persistence and defeated the French pair 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.

Last year, Rohan Bopanna won his maiden Grand Slam title at the French Open in the mixed doubles with Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski.

Yuki Bhambri got direct entry in the tournament in the men’s singles due to being in the top 100 of the world rankings. However, he lost his first round match in straight sets to Belgium’s Ruben Bemelmans.
