Indian tennis player Ramkumar Ramanathan has been knocked out from the ATP Challengers event in Busan, Korea, as he lost in the second round match at the ongoing competition. In another event in Luan, China, Ankita Raina has started her campaign on a positive note by winning her first-round match.

It wasn’t a great day at the office for Indian male tennis player Ramkumar Ramanathan as he was defeated by Cem İlkel of Turkey by straight games 1-6, 6-7 in the second round of the ATP Challenger tournament in Busan. Along with his partner Brayden Schnur, the Indian also failed to go ahead in the men’s doubles category as the duo lost the battle against Hsieh Cheng-peng and Christopher Rungkat in straight sets 2-6, 4-6.

India’s no. 1 female tennis player Ankita Rana started her campaign on a terrific note at the $60,000 ITF event in Luan, China. The Indian tennis player has now made it to the second round of the competition by getting the better of China’s Xinyu Jiang in straight games 6-4, 6-3.

The Indian challenge in Busan is still alive as Sriram Balaji and his partner Jonathan Erlich are scheduled to play Vishnu Vardhan and Toshihide Matsui in the quarter-final on Thursday.

In an ATP Challenger event in Rome, India’s Sumit Nagal was defeated by lower-ranked USA player Ulises Blanch in straight sets 2-6, 5-7 in the first round. Meanwhile, Sasi Kumar Mukund had also lost to Russia’s Evgeny Donskoy 2-6, 1-6 in the second round of another Challenger competition in Korea.
