Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu has decided to accept Andhra Pradesh government's job offer as Group-I officer. Sindhu, currently with Bharat Petroleum, is expected to join at the rank of district deputy collector and could get IAS promotion within a few years under special consideration.

Sindhu's mother has confirmed that she had conveyed her willingness to take up the offer. "We are expecting the appointment order," she told Mumbai Mirror.

The AP and Telangana governments had awarded Sindhu with Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore cash prize respectively for her Rio success. AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had made the job offer at the felicitation function last year where Sindhu was also presented with a 1,000 square yard residential plot in the state's to-be capital Amaravati.
