Pankaj Advani makes a winning start at Asian Snooker Championship

Pankaj Advani defeated Sulaiman Almisfer of Saudi Arabia 4-0 to start his Asian Snooker Championship on a winning note at Doha, Qatar, on Saturday. The 30-year-old managed breaks of 67 and 69 in the second and fourth frame respectively as he cruised to the top of Group A.

Advani won in straight frames with scores of 84-26, 81-06, 76-23, 70-15. He is now on the top of his group, which also features Ali Alobaidli of Qatar and Alvin Barbero of Philippines, with a frame difference of four.

"It was great to have this campaign started, there is a rhythm that is found on commencing with a tournament and I am delighted to have got off to a winning start.

"I am focused on working towards a similar score-line for all my group matches," Pankaj Advani said after the win.

He will now take on Ali Alobaidli on Sunday in this next game.

Manan Chandra, Sundeep Gulati and Ishpreet Singh Chadha are the other Indians participating in this tournament. Both Manan and Sundeep have made winning starts as well with Ishpreet set to play his first match today.
