Indian shooters Anjum Moudgil and Divyansh Singh Panwar have clinched gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team event at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Beijing, China. Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary added another gold for India in the 10m air pistol mixed team final later on the day.

The Indian mixed team won the keenly-contested final on Thursday as Moudgil and Panwar edged past the Chinese shooters Liu Ruxuan and Yang Haoran. The Chinese duo had a two-point lead with 13-11 when the Indians had called a time-out. Both of them came back strong after that and managed to gain two more points to level the scores at 13-13.

China had again taken a lead but eventually, the Indian pair managed to grab the gold medal by winning it 17-15. Russia’s Yulia Karimova and Grigorii Shamakov finished at the third position in the same event.

Panwar has managed to bag a gold medal at the World Cup for the first time as the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) has introduced a new format in the mixed team category. Moudgil had also failed to bag a medal in the women’s 10m air rifle at the ongoing World Cup. According to the new format, the top two teams went head to head for the final finish at the top.

In the 10m air pistol mixed team event, Bhaker and Chaudhary added another gold medal on the day for the Indians as they defeated Jiang Ranxin and Pang Wei from China in the final. The Indian pair finished with score of 16-6 in their favour against the host nation shooters on the third day of the tournament in Beijing.
