Under-fire DDCA president Jaitley gains support from Sehwag, Gambhir and Ishant
Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Arun Jaitley, who has come under fire from the Delhi government for his alleged involvement in corruption during his 13-year tenure at the helm, has received support from Delhi cricketing stars Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma.
Delhi cricket team's captain Gautam Gambhir has criticized former players, likely Bishen Singh Bedi and Kirti Azad, for blaming Jaitley for the corruption in DDCA. He went on to praise the finance minister's contribution to Delhi cricket on social media.
Grossly inappropriate 2 blame @arunjaitley ji 4 corruption in DDCA. He was d one who got Delhi a proper stadium widout taxpayer's money.

Gambhir's sentiments were echoed by his former Test opening partner Virender Sehwag. The 37-year-old, who recently retired from international cricket, revealed how approachable the DDCA president was, compared to other men in the state cricket board.
In my time with DDCA if I ever came to know of any 'surprising' selection of a player, all I needed to do was to inform @arunjaitley

And @arunjaitley Ji would immediately ensure correction and justice for the deserving players at #DDCA

Was a nightmare to speak to some others at DDCA but @arunjaitley ji was always available for players in case of any difficulty at any time

Indian pace bowler Ishant Sharma also took to social media to emphasize on how 'fair' Arun Jaitley has been in his role.
.@arunjaitley ji has always been helpful, fair and kind in all my interactions with him #DDCA

The Delhi government has asked for Jaitley's resignation or removal from the Union Cabinet in order to enable an independent probe into the allegations brought against him.
