DDCA members appear before probe panel; Gambhir dismisses speculations
13 members of the DDCA appeared on Friday before the three-member probe committee appointed by the Delhi Government to investigate alleged financial irregularities in the cricket body. The event assumes importance in the light of confusion over whether Delhi will be allowed to host the fourth Test between India and South Africa.
DDCA vice-president Chetan Chauhan and 12 other members appeared before the committee headed by Chetan Sanghi, Principal Secretary of the Vigilance Department, Delhi, reported PTI.
"In the meeting, the Committee pointed out the issue of DDCA facing multiple probes from different agencies of Central government - CBI, SFIO, Registrars of Companies (ROC).
"Besides, there are also four police complaints against the cricket body and it has not been able to get even competition certificate and structural safety certificate for the stadium from MCD," sources said as quoted by PTI.
"Committee has also sought to know what the DDCA officials are doing for promotion of cricket in the capital when all these agencies of Centre are probing them and thus they are bringing a bad name to Delhi," sources added.
DDCA President Sneh Bansal was confident of the outcome from the meeting when he said, "They said that they will revert back and also told us that some officials are going to meet BCCI President Shashank Manohar in Nagpur tomorrow".
Meanwhile, Delhi Ranji captain Gautam Gambhir has distanced himself from the controversy with a series of tweets explaining the reasons behind his much discussed visit to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Sme facts:1) I was invited by Delhi CM @ArvindKejriwal, didn't go on my own. 2) never discussed DDCA financial irregularities

He also appealed to the media to not speculate on his visit as it only involved the development of the sport in the capital and not the raging controversy at the DDCA as reported.
3) we discussed ways to improve Delhi ckt 4) discussed Centre for Cricketing Excellence in Delhi. So, plzz plzz don't speculate.
