Home team Bangladesh will be taking on India in the opening match of Asia Cup 2016 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on 24th February. For the first time, the tournament will be played in a T20 format instead of the usual 50-over format. Focus maybe on the bigger names, but hosts Bangladesh will try to pull-off a major surprise and peep the favorites to win their first ever Asia Cup.

The most-awaited matchup of the tournament will undoubtedly be the clash of the arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The match takes place on February 27, 2016 in Mirpur. With India having a considerably strong record against Pakistan in major tournaments, it will be a huge task for Pakistan to overcome an in-form Indian side which has recently whitewashed Australia 3-0 in Australia.

Sri Lanka, who are the most successful team in the 50-over format of the Asia Cup, are set to face India in India’s 3 match in the tournament.

The final team at the 2016 Asia Cup will be decided in the qualifier. The top team among Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman or United Arab Emirates will proceed to the next stage.
