India started their tour of Australia with a 74-run victory over Western Australia XI yesterday, but the story that attracted eyeballs was the non-bailable warrant issued against the Indian captain by the court in Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh for a controversial magazine cover in which he is depicted as a Hindu God.

VHP leader Shyam Sunder filed the case against Dhoni and the magazine claiming they had hurt religious sentiments. As usual, the twitterati came out in full force to defend their hero, while others pointed out the trivial nature of the matter.

There were also some funny tweets which are sure to crack you up.

Some also pointed to the other instances where people were depicted as God.
