Alviro Petersen charged with match-fixing by Cricket South Africa

The player has been accused of fixing multiple matches in the 2015 RAM SLAM T20 Challenge Series. Petersen, who has been a part of the Lancashire setup for the last two years, has been charged with breach of contract under the Cricket South Africa's anti-corruption code.

Spinner Gulam Bodi was banned for 20 years after he admitted charges of fixing matches as part of the same investigation. Wicketkeeper Thami Tsolekile was also banned from taking any part in cricket relating activities for 12 years while Pumelela Matshikwe, Ethy Mbhalati, and Jean Symes were also banned for accepting money from Bodi.

According to a press release, Peterson has been charged with,"contriving to fix or otherwise improperly influence, or being party to a scheme in which attempts would be made to fix or otherwise improperly influence, a match or matches," as reported by the BBC.

"Seeking to accept, accepting or agreeing to accept a bribe or reward to fix or contrive to fix or influence improperly a match or matches. Failing to disclose full details of any approaches or invitations to engage in corrupt conduct under the code. Failure to disclose full details of any incident or fact that may evidence corrupt conduct under the code by another participant."

In total, he has been charged with nine counts of failing to disclose information to the authorities along with obstructing and delaying the investigation.
