Forced by the Lodha Committee's recommendations, the BCCI may ouster Gagan Khoda and Jatin Paranjpe from the national selection panel at the SGM meeting in Mumbai tomorrow. Although there is the possibility of dismissing the entire panel, the ousting of Khoda and Paranjpe is looking more likely.

After the BCCI formed the selection panel violating the Lodha committee reforms, the Supreme Court appointed committee has warned the board to dismiss the entire body. However, looking at the probable danger, the BCCI is planning to ouster Gagan Khoda and Jatin Paranjpe from the selection panel.

Lodha Committee had earlier said in their reforms to form a body of three former cricketers, who have Test match experience, to select the national team. However, violating that, the BCCI have formed a five-member committee which includes Khoda and Paranjpe, who don’t have the required experience of representing India in the longer format..

Although there is a chance of overhauling of the entire committee, Paranjpe and Khoda exclusion looks imminent, reported PTI.

While MSK Prasad, Devang Gandhi, and Sarandeep Singh have collectively played 13 Tests for India, Paranjpe and Khoda have played four and two ODIs respectively.

"It's unlikely that Gagan and Jatin can be kept in selection panel. In any case, I don't think BCCI is now in a position to get into further confrontation with apex court and it's appointed panel," a very senior BCCI office-bearer told PTI on Wednesday.

He, however, added, "If we remove Gagan and Jatin, it will in any case conform with panel's guidelines of having three ex-Test players as senior selectors.

"We have a long home season and you don't want a situation where you don't have selectors going into ODIs followed by Test series against England and Australia."
