16-year old Jemimah Rodrigues hits One-day double century for Mumbai U-19

The match between Mumbai and Saurashtra, which was played in Aurangabad, came into the limelight when the 16-year-old Rodrigues scored an unbeaten 202 for the Mumbai U-19 women’s cricket team. Saurashtra's bowling attack failed to control the run-flow in the front of the right-handed batswoman, and that brilliant knock helped Mumbai post a colossal total of 347 runs for the loss of two wickets in their allotted quota of 50 overs.

Now, Rodrigues has two centuries to her name in this tournament, averaged well above 300 in the U-19 Super Leagues and lead the batting points table after scoring close to 700 in 10 matches. 

The 16-year-old learned the basics of the game at a very early age, interestingly, she started her journey as a bowler before showing her ability with the bat. The girl not only proved her passion for the cricket, but also displayed her talent with the hockey stick by representing Mumbai at the U-17 level.
