ICC name Jonathan Hall as General Counsel and Company Secretary

Jonathan Hall has been appointed appointed in the position of Company Secretary and General Counsel of world cricket’s governing body having served similar roles for various sporting organizations for nearly three decades.

Hall’s impressive credentials include him having worked for IMG in the capacity of Senior International Vice President, Legal Affairs on commercial legal matters across various sports such as cricket, football, rugby, tennis and golf. He left the organization to become a part of the Rugby Football Union where he carried out tasks in the same two posts as he has been offered by the ICC.

He went on to serve the Football Association for 11 years, initially as Director of Governance where he was given the responsibility of supervising regulatory and governance matters, before being promoted to the post of Director of the Football Services Division. 

"Cricket is a personal passion of mine so it is a source of great pride to be able to combine it with my professional life and utilize my experience in a game I love," Hall said after his appointment was made official, according to Times Now,

He has also worked in senior consultative roles for multinational sports bodies such as UEFA as well as Laureus, an ICC statement.

"I am delighted to welcome a lawyer of Jonathan's calibre to the ICC to lead our legal division following a comprehensive global search. Jonathan brings extensive experience across a range of sports that will be of great value to the global cricket community," ICC CEO Manu Sawhney said of the appointment.
