Pankaj Advani continues winning run at Asian Snooker Championship

Title favourite Pankaj Advani continued his winning run at the Asian Snooker Championship, as he registered his second successive win of the tournament on Sunday, defeating Qatar’s Ali al-Obaidly. The Indian ace won the match 4-0 (75-24, 138-04, 133-00, 84-28) to lead Group A with one match to go.

After defeating Sulaiman Almisfer of Saudi Arabia 4-0 in the opening match on Saturday, Indian ace cueist Pankaj Advani continued his impressive run, defeating home favourite Ali al-Obaidly of Qatar. The 30-year old won the match 4-0 with breaks of 66,111, 133 and 58 to make it two out of two in the group stage. Advani will next face Alvin Barbero of Philippines on Monday, in the last group match, as he marches towards the title. Advani, who has won world titles in both Billiards and Snooker, had finished runner-up in the last edition of the tournament.

Manan Chandra, Sundeep Gulati, and Ishpreet Singh Chadha are the other Indians participating in this tournament. Sundeep Gulati defeated Kim Youngjoo of South Korea and Manan Chandra defeated Kok Leong Lim of Malaysia 4-0 on Sunday, while Ishpreet Singh Chadha suffered a 0-4 defeat to Keen Hoo Moh of Malaysia.
