Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani has made it to the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian Billiards tournament in Chandigarh. Advani is the only Indian to stay alive in the competition as Dhruv Sitwala, Sourav Kothari and Dhvaj Haria all have lost in their respective quarter-final matches.

Pankaj Advani is on course of defending his Asian Billiards title as he has now entered the top four round of the continental event in Chandigarh. Last week, Advani had won the Asian Snooker Tour held in his home city Bengaluru. The senior cueist went past his compatriot Shrikrishna Suryanarayanan 5-2 in the quarter-final round of the tournament and is the only Indian to make it to the semi-finals in this edition.

After finishing his quarter-final clash on a winning note, the Indian will now meet former Asian Champion Thailand’s Praput Chaithanasakun. In the other semi-final game, Myanmar’s Nay Thway Oo and Chit Ko Ko will cross swords for a place in the final.

India’s Dhruv Sitwala, Sourav Kothari and Dhvaj Haria all lost their quarter-final matches and failed to qualify for the next round. With the tournament being played in India, Advani is the only player from the host nation to stay alive in the prestigious event.

SCORE:— Advani defeated Shrikrishna Suryanarayanan 5-2: 102(93)-11, 51-100, 102(87)-64(56), 100(51)-0, 69-100, 100(99)-42, 103(71)-25.
